Laser Hair Removal

Where can I have laser hair removal?

Today's state-of-the-art hair removal lasers can handle hair anywhere on your body. The main areas for laser hair removal include:

  • Upper lip
  • Legs
  • Bikini line
  • Back
  • Chest
  • Arms

If you've got hair that you don't want, you don't have to deal with the embarrassment and inconvenience any longer because Campbell Station Primary Care and Aesthetics has a laser hair removal option that will work for you.

What are the options for laser hair removal?

Campbell Station Primary Care and Aesthetics offers two options in laser hair removal: Nd YAG and Cutera XEO ProWave LX.

Nd YAG

The Nd YAG laser is well-suited for dark hair and skin. This laser features long wavelengths that bypass your skin to target the melanin within your hair follicles. The laser destroys the melanin and also heats your hair follicles enough to render them permanently inactive. Nd YAG laser treatment can be done on any size area. Sessions take two hours or less in most cases. The Nd YAG laser isn't a good option for lighter skin and hair, but ProWave may work in that case.

ProWave

ProWave uses intense pulsed-light to disable the cells inside your hair follicles. This type of laser hair removal can work well for nearly any type of hair and skin, even lighter shades. ProWave can work for both small and large areas, with the average session time being less than two hours.

You can discuss your hair removal needs with Robert to decide which choice is best for you.

How many laser hair removal sessions do I need?

The total number of sessions needed varies according to the size of the treatment area, the type of hair, the amount of hair, and the type of laser. You'll need a series of at least three to six treatments in most cases. Your laser hair removal sessions are usually at least six to eight weeks apart, which allows sufficient time for the next cycle of hairs to grow in.

Once you've got the desired results, you may just need periodic treatments to eliminate stray hairs once a year or so.
